David (Dave) Ammons, PhD is a Senior Course Instructor with Western Governors University (WGU) since January 2019. He has worked as a professor since 2011. He has taught at the University of Alaska – Anchorage, Central Texas College, ERAU, UMUC, Tarrant County College, and Wayland Baptist University. Dr. A has a PhD in Business Administration, MSA, BS in MIS, and is a Certified Technical Trainer and Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Chief Ammons is a retired United States Army Chief Warrant Officer Three (CW3), a combat Veteran, and a Bronze Star Medal Recipient. After retirement, Dave worked at high levels of private sector and Government civilian management and leadership jobs for many years before becoming a professor. Dave is from Chester, Virginia. He is the youngest of six children born to Roy and Mary Ellen Ammons. David currently lives in Temple Texas with his wife, Christel (Galloway) who he met on Active Duty while they were both stationed at Ft. Davis, Panama. They have two sons and five grandchildren. Dave has served in many roles in his local churches from Greeter to Pastor and is a leader in Officer Christian Fellowship (OCF) for Bible Study Small Groups. Dave is also very involved in Veterans Affairs as he started the Veterans Employee Resource Group (The VERGE) at WGU. Dave loves the” big three” sports of Baseball, Basketball and Football. Dave loves people, loves life and loves God; he feels privileged to be from Virginia; and he is proud to live in Texas. As the saying goes – “I am not from Texas but I got here as fast as I could.”
